Emma is horrified to learn that her mother Lady Imelda is paying them a visit. When Emma hosts a garden party, Imelda insists the Hardacres are invited. Mary reluctantly attends with the family, and Imelda appears perfectly charming. But Imelda later reveals to Emma her true feelings about the Hardacres.
